Luckily, Google has done everything it can to make this as simple as possible for you – including generating shortlinks to help you ask customers for feedback, and make it easier to give, which is what we’ll be covering today.
Why Is Customer Feedback Important?
When it comes to converting prospects, there is nothing quite like real customer feedback. Getting your customers to post reviews about your products and services can be one of the most beneficial ways or increasing your Google rankings, and can provide a real boost to sales at the same time. Around 80% of prospects will look up a company online and read their reviews before working with them, which means encouraging your customers to leave reviews should be one of your top marketing priorities. Reviews also give you the chance to better understand what’s going well and what you’re doing right – as well as areas you could improve your business in the future. How To Create Your Shortlink
The trick to encouraging customers to leave you great reviews is to make it as quick and easy as possible for them to do so. If you’re only asking them to take a few minutes out of their day and not really have to think about how they are going to leave the feedback, they are much more likely to do it than if there are multiple steps to follow.
Luckily, Google has thought of this. If you want a customer to leave you a review on Google My Business, all you need to do is send them a shortlink. This link will take them directly to your GMB page and bring up a box prompting them to type their review and select a star rating. So all they have to do is click the link and type in their thoughts. It’s as simple and quick as it can be.
Generating the link for them to click is easy for you to do as well. All you need to do is:
On A Desktop:
- Sign in to Google My Business
- If you have multiple locations, open the location you’d like to manage
- In the menu on the left, click ‘home’
- In the ‘get more reviews’ card, you can copy your short URL to share with customers
- On your mobile device, open the Google My Business App
- Tap ‘Customers’ and ‘Reviews’
- In the top right, tap ‘Share’
- If your short name is not created, you will be prompted to create one now
- Copy your short URL to share with customers
Once you have this link, it’s as simple as putting it in an email with a brief message explaining what you would like them to do and hitting send. We find this approach to be incredibly effective, and have used it to generate reviews for our customers for many years now with great results.
